Switcher
Testing, shunt burning and switching systems for printed solar cells.
The switching systems allow for switching, shunt-burning, de-doping, and simple testing of single junctions or modules with many junctions. The systems range from the small table-top systems for manual operation on discrete units to large and fully R2R operated systems.
The systems are built depending on the communications protocol and the number of junctions that need to be addressed. The switching head is the tool that makes physical contact to the electrodes of the printed solar cells and this is typically a highly-customized tool made for a specific design while we also offer a general-purpose head that can be adjusted mechanically for a given electrode pattern. The contacting systems range from point contacts for discrete handling and stop-and-go operation to fully continuously operated contacts for full industrial R2R processing at constant web speed. For complex contacting patterns we can offer systems for constant web speed comprising a stop-and-go system used in conjunction with a web buffer system.
In the standard configuration, all systems are turnkey and include PC with software (except the stand alone unit), power supply, and controls (buttons or software). High power versions are also available. Testing is offered via the internal SMU or through a test port using your own source measure unit (SMU) or test system. The software is configured for use with Keithley SMUs while other systems can be integrated on request.
Pricing and options
The full system is comprised of an electronics unit, a contact head, a contact actuator, a contact platform, and software/control. We offer various types of control system protocols for the electronics unit from stand-alone push button systems through USB connected systems for use on general PCs to full TCP/IP communications control over networks on industrial R2R platforms.
Electronics units
There are three options for the electronics units: USB control via PC, Desktop stand-alone system, and the TCP/IP Industrial R2R system, see options below.
